Georgianna Pappas
 

Born and raised in the NY Metro area,  Georgianna  Pappas has played piano since the age of five,  and gave her first solo recital at 14 years old; she was a student at Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division and Hunter College in NYC,  and graduated with a BA in Music. Having very diverse tastes and interests, musically speaking, she has worked and performed in various venues, from opera rehearsal work, chamber music and art song concerts, improvisational concerts to writing and performing songs for a musical theater piece, Hot Flashes, and accompanying singers in cabaret settings. She has participated in and led workshops in music improvisation for all ages, including a graduate level MBA program at Fordham University. She has performed in chamber music concerts and performed Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto with the Bronx Symphony Orchestra. Currently, chorus master and rehearsal pianist for New Rochelle Opera, and rehearsal pianist for Treasure Coast Opera Society in Florida. Very recently, she has played for Tamanduá Productions. (Tamanduá is a brand new Brazilian operatic work in progress.) She has a private studio, where she teaches piano to children and adults. Mother of three, and when not at the piano has been known to spend lots of time in a long, skinny racing kayak on a lake up in Rockland County. (2002 gold medal winner at National Sprint Kayak Championships in Lake Lanier, Georgia.)
