Heidi Lauren Duke, Director


Heidi Lauren Duke is honored to be joining the ensemble of Harbor Opera for Cendrillon. As a director and choreographer, Ms. Duke has worked for theatre and opera companies in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Rochester, and in Europe. Currently she is beginning her fifth season as Artistic Associate for Azuriales Opera in Nice, France, recruiting and directing an international ensemble of singers. Her recent New York productions include Rape of Lucretia with Project Opera of Manhattan, the world premiere of The Street, a new musical about the broads of Wall Street, and a critically acclaimed production of Richard III for Spoon Theatre. Her many honors include grants from OPERA America, the Joseph Weinberg Foundation, and membership in the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. After training as a singer, actor, and dancer, Ms. Duke was granted a scholarship to study directing at the University of Cincinnati/CCM, along with apprenticeships to Sir Jonathan Miller, Sandra Bernhard, Bronx Opera, and Maestro Lorin Maazel's Chateauville Foundation.
